Gilgamesh was a major hero in the ancient Mesopotamian mythology and the protagonist of the Epic of Gilgamesh, an epic poem written in Akkadian during the late 2nd millennium BC. He was also most likely a historical king of the Sumerian city-state of Uruk. Gilgamesh was also considered the master of animals. After reading the ‘Epic of Gilgamesh,’ I painted this work, taking the poem literally as if Gilgamesh was a real person. No one knows for sure. The work depicts my emotions concerned this character from antiquity.

WARRANTY
SHIPPING
Shipping costs for this work internationally can be prohibitively expensive and so the canvas is taken off the stretchers and rolled up and shipped in a tube. This provides reduced shipping rates, avoiding heavy shipping costs. However, the buyer would need to have the canvases remounted. This is always cheaper than paying excessive shipping fees on an artwork. However, bear in mind that all customs duty and related fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
