The feelings associated with realising that one knows far more about a certain thing, it is an overwhelming feeling that suddenly people are looking to you for answers. In my case, it was a family matter that has been the subject of much controversy. This work, “My Reluctant Authority – Abstract Expressionism,” of abstractionism and painted in the style of abstract expressionism.
“My Reluctant Authority – Abstract Expressionism,” is painted on 12 oz gallery canvas and has been sealed with varnish. The canvas is hand-stretched onto a frame is 170 cm in width by 150 cm in height.
“My Reluctant Authority – Abstract Expressionism,” was created in July of 2019.
AWARD WINNING
“My Reluctant Authority – Abstract Expressionism,” was part of an art prize in the US with the Grey Cube Gallery in July 2020. The show was entitled “Colors 2020.” The painting was a finalist and also given an Honorary Mention. A copy of the award is also provided with the painting.
A Certificate of Authenticity with hologram – verification is attached to “My Reluctant Authority – Abstract Expressionism.”

If you are an Australian buyer you will get the stretched canvas ready to hang. However, if you are an international buyer, you will receive the painting rolled up in a tube. You will need to have the work stretched onto a stretcher at your local framing store. This is usually inexpensive and stretching instructions comes with the painting.

Shipping costs for this work internationally can be prohibitively expensive and so the canvas is taken off the stretchers and rolled up and shipped in a tube. This provides reduced shipping rates, avoiding heavy shipping costs. However, the buyer would need to have the canvases remounted. This is always cheaper than paying excessive shipping fees on an artwork. However, bear in mind that all customs duty and related fees are the responsibility of the buyer. Shipping within Australia is free and comes ready to hang.
